To know and appreciate the taste of arak, it is first essential to enjoy it the traditional way:

  1 measure of Arak Fakra
2 meaures of water

Pour the arak in a small glass. Spin it out with water. Add an ice cube. Pretty strong drink to be prepared directly in the service glass or in a suitable capacity carafe.

  Between the sheets
1 measure of Arak Fakra
1 measure of brown rum
1 squeeze of lemon juice
1 drop of cointreau

Mix the drinks in a shaker and strain into a cocktail glass.

Try it out, Gentlemen, but make sure you don't fall before your sweetheart.

Ice kiss
2 measures of tomato juice
1 measure of Arak Fakra
1 spoonful of lemon juice
1 spoonful of Worcestershire
One pinch of salt
One pinch of pepper
One hint of tabasco

Ice up a wineglass (Put in some ice cubes and agitate by a rotational movement of the hand until a light mist covers crystal). Mix all elements in a shaker and strain into the iced wineglass. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.

Complete calmness, perfect two days after partying.

Snobs club
1 measure of Arak Fakra
2 measures of lemon juice
1/2 measure of Cinzano

Fill half the shaker with ice. Pour the arak, lemon juice and cinzano. Shake for 15 seconds. Serve in wineglasses previously dipped into salt (moisten the rims of the glasses with a split half slice of lemon then gently dip into table salt and let dry).

The arak/lemon/salt blend is undeniably charming. Salt is probably there to exalt the taste of arak as much as to sharpen the thirst.


  Freshness of a smmer's evening
1 measure of Arak Fakra
Orange juice to complete
1 slice of lemon

Pour the arak in a long drink glass. Top up with the orange juice while letting pass some of the crushed ice. Decorate with a slice of lemon and a maraschino cherry.

The stimulating effect of arak and the vitamin C of the orange make this cocktail the tonic and refreshing drink pre-eminently.

3 measures of whisky
2 measures of lemon juice
A small amount of sugar
Soda to taste

Fill half the shaker with crushed ice. Pour the scotch, sugar and arak. Shake for 30 seconds. Pour into a cocktail glass while letting pass the crushed ice. Top up with soda. Serves 2.

Be careful with this drink: it can altogether make the columns of Fakra dance, its ruins tremble or make the gods go out of their temple.

Zest of orange
Schweppes to taste to complete

In a flute glass, pour the arak and the crème de cassis. Mix well. Add ice cubes while sprinkling with the zest of orange. Top up with schweppes. Decorate with a slice of orange. As its name shows, this cocktail is generally served as an aperitif.

The Gathering
serves ten people
3 kg of seasonal fruits cut
into pieces (apples, pears,
strawberries, oranges, tangerines, peaches…)
1 cup of red grape juice
2 cups of orange juice
1 cup of lemon juice
1 cup of pineapple juice
1 cup of peach nectar
1 cup of strawberry syrup
1 1/2 cup of Arak Fakra
300 g of powdered brown sugar
1/2 litre of water
One pinch de cinnamon


Pour all ingredients except the fruit slices in a big carafe. Mix well and place in the refrigerator for a few hours. When the drink is well chilled, add the fruit slices and chill again for an hour. Serve in brandy glasses. Garnish with macerated fruits.

  Lebanese night
1 vanilla-flavoured ice ball
1 rose syrup ice ball
1 dash of Arak Fakra
1 dash of rose syrup

In the bowl of a blender, put the 2 ice balls. Add the dashes of arak and rose syrup. Blend until you obtain a frothy and creamy preparation. Pour into a long drink glass. Fill with crushed ice. Garnish with pine kernels and raisins macerated in orange blossom syrup. Taste slowly.

1 measure of bleu curacao
2 measures pineapple juice
4 measures fresh lager


In a beer mug, pour the chilled arak, the curaçao, the very fresh pineapple juice and the cool lager. Mix and savor immediately.

1/2 measure of martini dry
2 measures of orange juice
2 measures of pineapple juice

In a large cocktail glass, pour the arak and the martini dry. Mix well. Add the orange juice, pineapple juice, port, and grenadine. Mix again. Add 2 big ice cubes. Serve this refreshing drink immediately. Rather light cocktail to be prepared directly in the service glass.

a few thin slices of cucumber


Dip the rim of a cocktail glass in a green mint saucer, then in another saucer containing powdered sugar. Let harden. In a shaker, place crushed ice. Pour the mint cream and the arak. Shake well for 15 seconds. Pour into the glass while letting pass a small amount of crushed ice. Cover the inner sides of the glass of fresh cucumber slices. Add a sprig of fresh mint and taste immediately.

1 measure of mango juice
1 dash of lemon juice
1 dash passion fruit syrop
1/2 measure of Arak Fakra
Soda to complete


In a blending glass, pour the papaya juice, mango juice, lime juice, passion fruit juice, and arak, then put some ice cubes in large cocktail glasses. Pour the preparation until a few centimeters to the rim. Top up with soda. Decorate with a slice of papaya. Taste with a large milk shake straw.

2 measures of kiwi syrop
1/2 measure of Arak Fakra
1/2 measure of sugar cane syrop
1 dash of lime
Bitter lemon tonic to complete
One orange
One pinch of ginger


With a knife, peel the orange forming a spirale long zest. Place the zest against the sides of a big round glass. Pour the arak, the kiwi syrup, the cane sugar syrup and the lime juice. Mix. Add some ice cubes. Top up with bitter lemon tonic. Add the pinch of ginger. Decorate with a slice of kiwi, a kumquat and a sprig of fresh mint.

  Feast night
1 measure of Arak Fakra
1 measure of kahlua
1/4 measure of cointreau
One slice of lemon


In a goblet, pour the arak, the kahlua and the cointreau. Mix well. Add two large ice cubes. Sprinkle with coffee beans. Decorate with the split slice of lemon and fix it on the rim of the glass.
